URETEK CAVITY FILLING®
URETEK is recognised worldwide as a leading technical specialist in the repair of subsided concrete floors and steel foundations.

The URETEK Cavity Filling® process is a high-quality filling solution. It is reliable, durable and, from a technical perspective, quick and easy to apply. The process is used to fill cavities and restore their structural integrity. It is a long-lasting solution.
Principle of operation
The URETEK Cavity Filling® process is used to fill voids and restore their structural integrity. It is a solution with a long service life. The process consists of the following steps: Filling by introducing an inert filling material, such as expanded clay granules, either by injection or using gravity. Filling with expanding polyurethane resin. URETEK Resin is specially designed to completely fill the upper part of the cavity through expansion, placing the filling material under tension and compressing the entire assembly, thereby creating a state of permanent tension on the walls surrounding the cavity.
Technical data:
- Cavity Filling® is a lightweight filling material;
- The filler is stable and durable;
- Clay granules and polyurethane resin comply with current environmental standards;
- Thermal resistance λ of around 0.07 W/mK;
- The majority of the cavity is filled with clay granules.

Filling
Filling by blowing in or applying, by gravity, an inert filling material such as expanded clay pellets. If the cavity is inaccessible, filling takes place by gravity through boreholes drilled into the surface. If the cavity is accessible, filling takes place by targeted blowing from inside the cavity. The cavity is filled as completely as possible, usually to 95–98 per cent of its volume.
Filling
Filling the cavity by applying the expanding polyurethane resin URETEK Resin. The resin is injected in liquid form via injection tubes. If the cavity is inaccessible, the tubes are placed in boreholes between the substrate and the cavity. If the cavity is accessible, the tubes are positioned before filling begins. The resin expands and cures through polymerisation; this expansion applies tension to the cavity and to the previously applied filling material.
Injection
Injection into the entire volume. Where necessary or specifically requested, the expanding resin is distributed evenly throughout the ‘aggregate matrix’ in the cavity during injection. Filling ensures that the volume is completely filled. This gives the “aggregate/resin” structure cohesion and facilitates subsequent work in the substrate. Here too, the expansion resin ensures a perfect seal at the top of the cavity and optimal saturation of the walls, thereby eliminating the risk of sinkholes and facilitating subsequent work in the subsoil.
