The Woonkwartier housing association in Oudenbosch was faced with widespread subsidence of storage rooms in a somewhat older neighbourhood: some by as much as 25 cm. With the URETEK FloorLift® technique, URETEK offers a solution here. A total of 74 storage rooms were affected. The final 30 storage rooms will be raised this year.
“At the housing association’s request, we are only tackling the very worst cases,” explains Arend Knufman, technical adviser at URETEK. “With the FloorLift® technique, we can straighten them with millimetre precision.” URETEK’s work causes minimal disruption to residents. For example, there is no demolition work and the storage rooms do not even need to be cleared out.
Effective collaboration
The project in Oudenbosch is progressing at a brisk pace, partly thanks to the close coordination within a specially formed project team. In addition to staff from Woonkwartier and URETEK, the construction firm Hoendervangers from Oud Gastel is also part of this team. Arend Knufman: “Before lifting begins, Hoendervangers ensures that all storage sheds are disconnected from fences, canopies and drainpipes, amongst other things. Once the work is complete, they will restore these to their original condition. This allows us to lift 3 to 4 storage sheds per day without any issues, and everything will be back in perfect order within 9 working days!”
