Cracks repaired
The extension to a house in Dudelange, Luxembourg, had subsided to such an extent that significant cracks had appeared in the walls. Using URETEK’s FloorLift® technique, this problem was resolved in a single morning.
Due to the drying out of the underlying layer of clay and loam, the concrete foundation slab of the later-built extension had subsided by around three centimetres. The extension had become misaligned with the main house; not a pretty sight. What’s more, unsightly cracks had appeared in the wall. Time for action!
Everything back in line
URETEK staff ensured that approximately 26 m² of the foundation slab was backfilled and restored to a perfectly level position. This restored the foundation’s load-bearing capacity, allowing the extension to be lifted. The extension has, as it were, been ‘pushed’ back against the main house and is now neatly aligned with the adjoining garage floor.
A superb end result
Homeowner Paulo Madeira is very enthusiastic about the outcome: “The cracks that had appeared in the wall closed up neatly again during the lifting process. That was a sight to behold. Of course, I hoped the result would be good, but I hadn’t expected it to be quite so impressive. And all that in just one morning’s work. The work went very smoothly and I’m absolutely delighted with the result!”
