Subsided house extension in Naarden
As the foundation piles for a house extension had not been driven deep enough, the extension began to subside. URETEK does not usually treat this type of foundation structure, but following additional ground investigations, the subsoil was found to be strong enough to allow the use of the URETEK DeepInjection® method.
Henk de Leeuw is the owner of the property in question. He explains: “When I noticed that the extension had subsided slightly, I saw an advert for URETEK in the magazine of the Vereniging Eigen Huis. I cut it out and kept it; I wanted to wait and see if the subsidence would continue. When that indeed proved to be the case and a large crack appeared in the façade, I contacted URETEK.”
Structural engineer
“Things moved very quickly after that,” continues Henk de Leeuw. “URETEK’s structural engineer came to assess the situation. He explained that URETEK does not normally deal with pile foundations, but after further investigation and a soil survey, he saw that there were possibilities after all. I soon received a quote for the DeepInjection method. Once I’d approved it, an appointment for the work was quickly scheduled.”
A sound investment
“On the day of the work, the technical team arrived in an impressive vehicle. I watched with great interest as the men inserted the lances into the ground and carefully raised the extension back to the correct height. It went perfectly and much faster than I had expected. I am therefore very satisfied with both the execution and the result. A good investment!”
