A timber extension to a house in Meppel was becoming increasingly lopsided due to subsidence. The cause: settlement of the subsoil. The builder of the extension was keen to resolve the problem for the homeowner and called in URETEK.
Arend de Wolde, owner of Bloemen Bouw, explains: “We build under warranty, so we always resolve any problems that arise. This was no exception. I remembered having read something about URETEK’s method and rang them to ask if they could sort this problem out for us. They could, using the URETEK FloorLift® method.”
Amazed
“On the day of the work, the URETEK team arrived early. I watched how they went about their work and was amazed that something like this was possible. It was truly a marvellous sight as the extension rose millimetre by millimetre, back up against the house’s façade. Within four hours, the job was done and the extension was standing just as straight as we’d ever built it.”
Nice and neat
“Once the work was finished, the gaps that had formed were sealed again; everything looks nice and neat once more. Another nice touch was that the staff carried out their work neatly and were considerate of the residents. For example, they didn’t walk inside with muddy shoes. I’m very pleased with the result and have already called on URETEK again for another job.”
