When a detached house in Lommel, Belgium, began to show cracks in the façade, owner Harry Dogge started an online search for a solution to the problem. He came across the URETEK DeepInjection® method.
“There was clearly stress on the house,” says Harry Dogge. “When cracks also became visible inside, I searched online for possible solutions. Falling groundwater level
“URETEK’s structural engineer identified the problem almost straight away: the falling groundwater level had probably caused the soil layers to settle, leading to the foundations sinking. After having a soil investigation carried out, I made an appointment to have the subsoil grouted. I didn’t want to wait, as the cost of the repairs would only go up.”
Carefully measured and controlled
“The team from URETEK explained clearly what they were going to do and carried out the work very professionally. It was nerve-wracking to see if they’d manage to lift the house, but I had every confidence in the professionalism of the staff. It was clear to see that they do this every day and know exactly what they’re doing. The work was carried out in a measured and controlled manner, resulting in the house being raised by around 5.5 mm on the left and approximately 4 mm on the right. Time will tell whether the result is permanent, but I’m absolutely delighted and feel very positive about it. The whole process went very smoothly and I would definitely recommend URETEK to anyone with similar problems.”
