After Arie de Klerk had bought a house in Ridderkerk, he began to be annoyed by the fact that it was leaning. In his search for a solution, he came across URETEK. The URETEK FloorLift® method successfully resolved the problem in 1999. And even after all this time, Arie de Klerk is still very pleased with the result.
“Back then, URETEK was mainly active in raising industrial floors and roads,” says Arie de Klerk. “My house was one of the first homes they tackled. The URETEK team therefore came first to thoroughly check whether the subsoil was suitable for their method. Fortunately, it turned out to be the case and they were keen to take on the challenge.”

“I found it quite a challenge myself. I wanted to make sure the solution wouldn’t cause new problems, such as cracks in the walls or burst pipes. That’s why I made sure to check with various professionals beforehand to ensure the URETEK method wouldn’t cause any harm. Once I’d got the go-ahead from them too, I immediately made an appointment with URETEK. When they arrived with two large lorries and set to work, they attracted a lot of attention: everyone was curious to see how it would go.”
Everything still perfectly straight
“After two days of meticulous work, the problem was solved: on the side with the worst subsidence, my house was raised by about 8 cm, and on the other side by about 2 cm. The result was fantastic even then – and it still is. After nearly twenty years, there has been no further subsidence: everything is still perfectly level. How do I know that? Before URETEK started work, water on the kitchen worktop would always run in at a certain angle. Since the lifting work, that has never happened again. This is therefore one of the best investments I’ve ever made!”
