After demolition, underground URETEK resin found to be as good as new
In 2001, part of the floor of the swimming pool at a holiday park in Reuver was filled with two-component resin. When the swimming pool was destroyed by fire at the end of 2002, the demolition company came across the underground resin, which was still firmly and neatly in place. Proof of a sustainable method!
Dré Peeters is Head of Technical Services at Landal, the current owner of the holiday park. He explains: “I was already working at this park at the time. When we discovered that the swimming pool was leaking, we set about finding the cause. Whilst fixing the leak, we discovered that years of leaching had created a large hollow space. To prevent further problems, we asked URETEK to fill this space. It was all sorted in a single evening.”
The ideal solution
“When the demolition firm cleared away the burnt-out section of the swimming pool after the fire, they didn’t know what they were looking at,” continues Dré Peeters. “The injected resin still looked pristine, as good as new and firmly in place. A fine example of how sustainable this method is: the resin hadn’t shifted and had done its job well. Based on this positive experience, we’ve asked URETEK for help again this year. This time because a number of bungalows in the park are showing cracks. The URETEK method for repairing the foundations is perfectly suited to this situation: it’s quicker than demolition and rebuilding and is also much cheaper. Ideal if, as in this case, you want to be able to rent out the bungalows again quickly!”
In 2017, we carried out a new project for Landal Lommerbergen: straightening the extensions of various bungalows. The video below gives you a good impression of our work:
