Ground beneath former vicarage stabilised

A side wall of the former vicarage on Rielerweg in Deventer had subsided significantly, probably due to a leaking sewer pipe. URETEK applied the DeepInjection® method, with a guarantee that further subsidence is ruled out.

The first step in the work was to carry out a soil investigation: measuring the bearing capacity of the ground. Matthijs Eisses of Hoogveld Sonderingen: “Using specialised equipment, we measure which soil layers are present at a site. Based on this, we provide tailored foundation advice. At this site in Deventer, the client wanted to know whether the soil was suitable for the URETEK method. It turned out to be so, so our advice was positive.”

Get started quickly
Peter Vredeveld recently became the owner of the former vicarage and the adjacent church, where he has set up a gallery for Asian art. He explains: “We’d like to renovate the 90-year-old property, but we want to be absolutely sure that the subsidence doesn’t get any worse. That’s why we called in URETEK. Fortunately, they were able to carry out the work quickly: within a week, the mobile workshop was on the pavement and the problem was solved in two days.”

Impressed
“I followed the whole process with great interest,” continues Peter Vredeveld. “When the two-component resin was injected into the ground, I was very impressed: you can feel the expansive force, and I saw the façade literally rise a little. That immediately gives you the feeling that it’s all right. I’m therefore pleased with the result and the guarantee that the façade won’t sink any further!”
