Jan-Peter and Laurina Brouwer
When Jan-Peter and Laurina Brouwer bought their house in Ovezande, they knew that something needed to be done about the foundations: the walls were showing cracks and some of the doors no longer closed properly due to subsidence. They took on the challenge of gravity and, thanks to the URETEK DeepInjection® method, the foundations have been restored.
“Parts of the wall had subsided and the difference in height between the various floor sections in the house was as much as six centimetres in some places,” explains Jan-Peter Brouwer. “The entire foundation needed attention; the only question was how to go about it. On the advice of a structural engineer, we called in URETEK. That would cause the least hassle and take the least time, plus – and this is the most important thing – we wouldn’t have to leave the house whilst the work was being carried out.”
A good first impression right away
Jan-Peter Brouwer: “After filling in an online form, a URETEK adviser came round fairly quickly to assess the situation on site. Once we’d agreed on the price, we arranged for the work to be carried out. When the team arrived with their equipment, I got a good impression straight away, which was reinforced by the well-reasoned answers to my questions. That immediately inspired confidence.”
Result exceeded expectations
In the space of three days, the entire foundation of the house was tackled. “You could tell they’ve been doing this work for years and work very well together. Everything is done with care. I thought it was fantastic to witness and we’re very pleased with the result: it’s actually exceeded our expectations. Not only has the foundation been stabilised, but the floor has also been raised, so that the doors now close properly again and the cracks in the walls are virtually closed. That’s a lovely bonus!”
