The reinforced concrete industrial floor at Eurotech Group in Venlo had subsided to such an extent that a difference in height of around two and a half centimetres had developed. Thanks to the URETEK FloorLift® method, the entire factory floor – covering around 120 m² – was perfectly level again within a day. Without having to clear out the hall.
“The subsidence was probably caused by a rainwater drain that hadn’t been connected properly, which led to the subsoil being partially washed away,” explains Lei Kok, head of technical services at Eurotech Group. “As the team from URETEK had already very successfully raised a section of the floor in our industrial hall back in 2001, we called on them again. And this time, too, we were very pleased with the result.”
No need to move anything
“The big advantage of the whole operation is that it could be scheduled on a weekday and we were able to carry on with production as normal,” continues Lei Kok. “We didn’t have to move anything either: we could simply leave all the racking that was standing on the subsided floor in place. It couldn’t have been easier.”
Ideal method
“We weren’t inconvenienced by the work at all and are very pleased with the result. We therefore found URETEK’s method to be the ideal way to rectify subsidence: it’s a method that appears quite simple at first glance, but is actually very precise. Both treated floors are perfectly level and we didn’t have to worry about them at all.”
