Niels Polak of Sterren College Haarlem:
The floors of three sports halls in the relatively new sports centre at Sterren College in Haarlem had subsided and were partially cracked. As this was still covered by the warranty, the builder called in URETEK to carry out the repairs. The URETEK FloorLift® method was used to resolve the problem and prevent further subsidence.
Niels Polak, Head of Facilities at Sterren College, explains: “The sports hall was completed around 2013, and by 2015 we had already noticed that parts of it had subsided. Following close consultation with the construction company, it was decided to call in URETEK. I wasn’t familiar with this company or its methods, but we certainly had confidence in them.”
Carefully carried out
“It was fantastic to see how the URETEK team went about their work,” continues Niels Polak. “Over the course of a week, they carefully worked on a large area, section by section. Bit by bit, you could see the floor rising. The floors have been raised by about two centimetres and are now perfectly level again. It’s quite remarkable and impressive that this is possible!” Ideal approach
“This was the ideal approach for us, as we were able to continue using the other rooms as normal whilst the work was being carried out. What was going to happen was clearly explained in advance, and afterwards the venue was tidied up and cleaned thoroughly. Everything went exactly as agreed. We’re delighted with the result; it was a very pleasant experience!”
