Crack injection

Crack injection is a resin injection method in which a synthetic resin is injected into structures via pre-drilled boreholes. The aim is to seal cracks, joints, voids and irregularities (which may contain water) in concrete and masonry. Specialist companies carrying out crack injection use different types of resin for each application. Each type of resin used has its own composition, meaning that the range of resin properties is very broad. The resins used can consist of either a single component or two or four components, which are mixed together during injection. Resin for crack injection is available in varieties ranging from foaming to non-foaming and from slow-curing to fast-curing. Furthermore, once cured, the resin can be soft, stiff or solid.
