A floor in Polytec’s production area in Roosendaal had subsided to such an extent that a 7 cm difference in level had arisen. This posed a hazard to staff walking around the area carrying products. URETEK quickly provided a perfect solution.
Polytec manufactures hydraulically moulded plastic components for the automotive industry, including parts for vehicles such as Jaguars, Land Rovers and Audis. “In the production area where the floor had subsided, an operator has to walk back and forth a lot to remove products from the press,” explains Minko van der Harst, maintenance engineer at Polytec. “To prevent accidents, we first tried to level out the uneven floor with concrete mortar. But that soon started to come away. So I started Googling for a solution. That’s how I came across URETEK.”
Extra strength
“Specialists from URETEK came round to us promptly to carry out a preliminary survey. I immediately accepted their quote, which was relatively reasonable. Fortunately, they were also able to get to work quickly and the problem was resolved in a single morning. During the work, they switched to an even harder expansion resin for extra strength. The floor is now perfectly level again. A perfect solution for us and neatly carried out by the meticulous staff, who also left everything tidy afterwards. In short: a brilliant result!”
