Floor and foundation repairs in listed buildings
Foundation problems and floor subsidence can lead to serious damage in a listed building. Historic features may be irreparably damaged as a result. Preventive measures and the timely resolution of foundation problems and building subsidence can prevent this. Using the innovative URETEK FloorLift® method, URETEK ensures the rapid repair of subsided floors and offers preventative measures against building subsidence. The ideal solution for the rapid repair of subsided floors, without disruption and at low cost.
The URETEK FloorLift® method is the ideal solution for raising floors in listed buildings:
- major interventions such as breaking up or re-laying the floor are not necessary
- the subsided floor can be restored to the exact correct height in a short space of time
- the floor renovation is completed in days, rather than weeks or months
- the sunken floor does not need to be vacated
- the listed building remains fully accessible to residents, staff and visitors throughout the floor repair work
- The repaired floor can bear weight immediately.
Lifting subsided floors
When repairing subsided buildings, we inject a powerful expanding resin beneath the floor. Thanks to the high upward pressure, the subsided floor is raised again and cracks and joints are brought back together. This injection method is extremely precise and can be controlled down to the millimetre. See how the URETEK FloorLift® method works here.
Foundation repair
If the ground beneath the foundations can no longer adequately support the structures above, or if it settles for any reason, intervention is necessary. Using our specialist URETEK DeepInjection® method and URETEK HybridInjection® method, we can correct subsided foundations and ensure proper support to prevent damage to floors, walls and façades.
With the URETEK DeepInjection® method, a specially developed two-component expansion resin is applied via targeted soil injections directly beneath the subsided foundation. This composite product expands with great force, compacting and reinforcing the ground beneath the foundation. This restores the bearing capacity of the soil beneath the subsided foundation.
Specifically for stabilising subsided and unstable foundations on soft clay and peat layers, URETEK has developed the
URETEK HybridInjection® method. This patented injection technique makes it possible to reinforce soil layers – which are not normally suitable for treatment using standard ground injection techniques.
